Which Mason will Win?

So tomorrow's the big day. And I still can't decide. Peroutka is promising to end abortion the day after he's sworn in. I think I have to vote for that, even if there's not a chance in hell (literally) that he'll win.

It's really amazing, something I've noticed ... seems like everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - that I have talked to about the Election has said the same thing: yes, Peroutka would be a better choice than Bush, but Bush is the only viable candidate, so we have to vote Bush.

Now, I've talked to probably hundreds of people about this in the last month. Hundreds. And they all say this same thing.

Folks, wake up.

My sphere of influence is not huge, but I have a somewhat larger "bird's eye" view of things than the Average Joe, and I'm telling you: a whole lot of you want Peroutka, but you're going to vote Bush because you think you're a lone voice that won't be heard.

You aren't. And if the hundreds of people I've talked to, who all wish they could vote Peroutka, would just follow their conscience and vote for Peroutka, maybe the guy would have a fighting chance.

So here's my new motto: a vote for Bush steals a vote from Peroutka.

I wonder what would happen if the thousands and thousands of Catholics out there who want to vote for Peroutka actually did? Add to that the thousands and thousands of Protestants who would like to vote for Peroutka, but won't because they assume he's going to lose - this guy could potentially win.

But he won't.

Why?

Because every single individual in that large group of thousands thinks he's the only one in the group. It's like you're all holed up in solitary cells in the same large building, but if you'd all come out and stand in the yard together, you'd see what a large network belong to.

So don't be a chicken. If you want to vote for Peroutka, but think you're just wasting a vote, be bold and vote for Peroutka anyway. Because I guarantee you that if you don't vote for Peroutka, he most definitely will not win.
